Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas is hosting an online Youth Tour program via Zoom to be held June 18-25. The virtual experience will consist of:
- Learning about electric cooperatives and the cooperative business model;
- Sessions with lawmakers on Capitol Hill and the Arkansas State Capitol;
- Sessions with Arkansas business, education, and faith leaders;
- Electing a Youth Leadership Council (YLC) representative to NRECA’s YLC Program
- Interacting with other Arkansas Youth Tour participants virtually; and
- Learn how you could earn a $5,000 college scholarship by planning and executing a public service project in the local community. (Students are not required to perform a public service project to participate in Youth Tour.)
Please note: Each session will be recorded and shared with students who might not be able to attend live sessions
Applying is easy, to enter:

- download the application and mail it in or
- see your high school guidance counselor
Entries must be submitted by April 1, 2021. Entries must include an essay (250-500 words) on the following topic: What do you see as Electric Cooperatives' biggest challenge?
Applications will be reviewed and finalists will be interviewed virtually before April 15, 2021.
