TCPA Rights

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), 47 USCS Sec. 277, was enacted in 1991 to protect consumers from unwanted telephone calls, text messages, and faxes. The TCPA places restrictions on auto-dialed calls, artificial or prerecorded voice calls, text messages, telemarketing calls and text messages, unsolicited fax advertisements, telephone solicitations, and the like. The Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”) and the state attorneys general enforce the TCPA. The federal regulations can be found here:  47 C.F.R Sec. 64.1200
