Disconnects Have Resumed
The Arkansas Public Service Commission lifted the moratorium suspending service disconnections on May 3, 2021.
Carroll Electric will begin to resume service disconnections on May 24.
In addition to a standard mailed utility SHUT-OFF NOTICE, customers who are subject to having their electric service suspended will receive a FINAL NOTICE in the form of:
- an email notification,
- a phone call from our billing department,
- a voice message left by our billing department, OR
- a door hanger.
This FINAL NOTICE will generally be made 2 days before disconnects occur.
Carroll Electric understands that several of its members have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. We also understand the importance of providing accurate information to our members regarding the alternatives available to prevent an unmanageable build-up of past due balances and avoid the possible suspension of electric service.
If your account is past due and is subject to the suspension of electric service, please contact the Cooperative by phone at 1-800-432-9720 to discuss alternative payment options.
For a limited time, customers can pay their overdue balance in equal installments for a period of up to 18 months. As long as customers pay their current bill amount and the monthly installment by the due date each month, electric service will not be suspended.
