Record Low Temperatures Result in High Electric Bills
The recent polar vortex in February has led to the reporting of abnormally low temperatures across Carroll Electric’s service area and has resulted in record-high electricity consumption.
Some of the Cooperative's members have already started to see this impact on recent bills. Carroll Electric understands members may have difficulty satisfying their balance when this higher-than-normal consumption is actually billed. In response, Carroll Electric will continue to offer flexible payment terms when these situations exist.
Please call Customer Service at 1.800.432.9720 prior to the due date of your electric bill to discuss all available payment options:
A payment extension is an option provided to our customers to assist them in resolving a temporary financial burden. If you are unable to pay your electric bill on or by the due date, you can receive additional time to pay that balance.
Deferred Payment Agreement
A deferred payment arrangement allows you to pay an overdue balance by scheduling a series of payments or installments on future bills that you can financially manage. The Cooperative will generally split the balance customers cannot afford over 2 or 3 monthly installments but is willing to work with customers who need more time.
