Caution to Members

During the COVID-19 crisis, Carroll Electric is alerting members to be aware of potential scam phone calls or emails threatening to shut off power if payment is not made.

Carroll Electric members should be on the lookout for suspicious emails, phone calls, or persons impersonating business employees or charitable organizations. Unfortunately, scammers take advantage of opportunities such as this when households are otherwise preoccupied. If you get a call from someone claiming to represent Carroll Electric, and they make threats or demand immediate payment, hang up and call the Cooperative at 1.800.432.9720.

Disconnects for failure of payment have been suspended until further notice. Members should assume that any threat related to a disruption in service for non-payment IS a scam.
