Increased Public Safety

Increased Public Safety

  • Making power lines clearly visible and placing them a safe distance from trees can help to prevent life-threatening accidents. In an effort to better inform others about the danger of power lines near trees, Shawn Miller shares his electrical accident experience.  Shawn is urging people to use extreme caution around overhead power lines, and he speaks from personal experience.  Click to learn more about Shawn’s story at www.safeelectricity.org
  • Dialing 8-1-1 before you dig will help you avoid coming into contact with underground power lines.  Whether you are planting new flower beds, bushes, trees, or creating a trench for water, gas, or electric lines, please call 8-1-1 before digging.
  • We’re educating our youth about proper power line safety through programs like Fourth Grade Foresters. This year, Carroll Electric donated trees to more than 4,300 fourth grade students in 41 elementary schools to raise awareness of National Arbor Day, and help teach students about the relationship between trees and providing reliable electricity.  Click here to learn more.
