Service Size Requirements

Local authorities may have additional requirements.

1. If meter loop is on PRIMARY POLE, service wires must be underground.
2. Assembled meter loop supplied by member (conduit size shown in table). No thin wall conduit permitted.
3. Weatherproof main disconnect required on pole.
4. Conduit straps to be sized to the conduit required (3 required).
5. Leads from the weatherhead should extend 5' on a primary pole and 2' on a secondary pole.
6. All wire in conduit must be stranded THW covered or equivalent.
7. No. 6 copper (No. 4 on 200 amp service) from meter base required for bonding to pole ground.
8. Member's wire from the main disconnect is required to be in conduit and the conduit must extend a minimum of 18" under finished grade.
