An approaching cold front will bring some thunderstorms to Arkansas over the next couple of days.
From early this afternoon through mid evening, a few severe storms could occur, primarily across the northwest half of the state. Damaging winds will be the main severe weather threat.
On Thursday, the northwest half of the state will again be the favored area for a few severe storms, mainly from early afternoon through the evening hours. Damaging winds will be the main severe weather threat.
The cold front will make its way into northwest Arkansas Thursday evening and move through the rest of the state Thursday night and Friday. Some thunderstorms should accompany the front, but chances of severe weather should diminish after midnight Thursday night.
Although widespread heavy rain is not expected, the strongest storms should be able to drop 1 to 2 inch amounts.
